Dr. Kasal's surgical skill, coolness under pressure and reliability
earned him a position as Hope Hospital's senior surgeon. For all intents
and purposes, he's the manager of the department. He is a kind person,
though he takes his job very seriously, and expects those around him to
do the same.

To me, without playing Under the Knife, Dr. Kasal looked like a
joker. I mean, come on! Look at that pose! That smile- he has "joker"
written all over him. It didn't even occur to me that he could possibly
be serious, or angry. But he gets there, especially if you have an
accidental "game over". Heh. He is an all around good guy. He was
Derek's mentor when he was doing his residency. A few weeks after the
completion of Derek's residency, he left to work under Sidney Kasal,
Greg's younger brother.
(Though I think Sidney is just the younger twin...)
